City Directories and History: 1913 – P.T. Villepique, 1925 – J.W. Corbett M.D., 1941 – Alice C. Marye, 1964 – Charles H. Zemp
The Rock Hill Herald reported on Dec. 16, 1896 – “That J.W. Westerlund is roofing the residence of Dr. J.W. Corbett in Camden, S.C.”
The original home sitting on this lot burned in circa 1890 and was replaced by the current structure. Purchased by Paul T. Villepique in 1884, from his mother’s estate, where his wife lived until circa 1914. Dr. John W. Corbett and his wife Retta lived here later as did Alice C. Mary the widow of Robert T. Marye.

Please enjoy this structure and all those listed in Roots and Recall. But remember each is private property. So view them from a distance or from a public area such as the sidewalk or public road.
Do you have information to share and preserve? Family, school, church, or other older photos and stories are welcome. Send them digitally through the “Share Your Story” link, so they too might be posted on Roots and Recall.
Thanks!
