City Directories and History: “Mrs. Henry Young Cunningham built this house as a summer residence 1886. She also built a small school nearby, which was later incorporated the house.
The house is of frame construction, one story in height with a steeply gable roof. A porch which spans the facade has square posts and balustrade. The school building, which is now connected to the southeast of the porch, has a low pitched gable roof. The square posts and balustrade around two sides of the school match those found on the house addition of decorative brackets. Windows throughout are six over six lights.”
