City Directories and History: “Petit Point” was built for an unmarried sister of the Chaplin family. original house is three bays wide in the “ABA” configuration. Double verandahs across the facade are each supported by four square posts with a balustrade. The house faces south but is on an unusually low brick foundation. The steeply pitched gable roof has a closed box cornice and an exterior on the east end.”
