The Bamberg Herald of March 27, 1900 reported – “The Sec. of State has issued charters for the Clearwater Bleachery at Aiken, the Iceman Mills in McCall, the Alpha Mills in Jonesville, and an increase in capacity for the Anderson Yarn and Knitting Mill. The Clearwater Bleachery will be situated in Clearwater in Aiken Co., where there is a fine source of good water. The backers of this mill are a group of Augusta businessmen.”
