“More than just dates and names; buildings, farmsteads, letters, photographs, people, places, and stories.”
Roots and Recall was created to provide “free” opportunities for individuals, historical agencies and families to both comment and post family and local history to the website. It is a service to foster the preservation of homeplace histories – your’s is very important. Visit the Share content section and become a regular contributor and hundreds of collections are annually shared with R&R by individuals from all over the U.S., you too can safely mail your collection for digitization and preservation. It is easy and your family history can be preserved on the site with little expertise in technology.
One of the nicest features of R&R is that many individuals will see your post and want to add pertinent data and images to enhance the site. Many posts have had 6-10 different contributors, who have jointly built a family history page of considerable content. There are now over 33,000 homeplace posts on R&R, as of 2015, so what are you waiting for? Just take a few minutes and get started, we will help you with the process! If you have questions, contact R&R at rootsandrecall@gmail.com, you must add the address to your own address book or the return email from R&R will be marked spam and you will not receive it.
R&R strives to answer enquirers within forty-eight hours. R&R wants to help you save your family images, history & stories. Unlike social media sites, your images are never shared with vendors! Hundreds of collections are annually shared with R&R by individuals from all over the U.S., you too can safely mail your collection for digitization.
