City Directories and History: Constructed in 1853 by J.W. Frazier and Dr. George Pressley, after being established as early as 1779.
“Cedar Spring (1780), Abbeville County. Miss Nora M. Davis (see Head A, under No. 14, Mt. Carmel) states: “Dr. Thomas Clark organized Little Run (later Little River) and Cedar Spring (at first called Cedar Creek) as Associate Reformed Presbyterian churches in 1782. . . . The Presbytery of the Carolinas and Georgia organized at Cedar Spring Meeting House in 1790.” The organization date of the Presbytery antedates that of the General Synod in 1803.”
