City Directories and History: This wonderful old filling station is reported to have been built in 1930 or earlier. The home of Robert E. Boyd was next door and recorded as #1110 West Main Street as well.
Posted on FB on 11.19.16 – “This is a photo of my husband Rich “pumping gas” & a little guy putting gas into his pedal car at our
little 1930 filling station called Nostalgic Station here in Laurens, SC. Our ’37 DeSoto is gone…but station looks better than ever after lots of time & money put in to restore it. The station has not served gas since the early 50s. Was basically dirty with missing cement & stucco…2 baby squirrels in the attic…and mold growing spotty on the outside. Glad my husband saw the vision of saving this building! Many hours of cleaning, patching, painting & much patience !”
